Indonesia will begin chemically castrating convicted pedophiles in an effort to combat child sex abuse.

On Wednesday, May 25, President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo signed a presidential directive to castrate child sex offenders. Death penalty as punishment was also introduced.

"This regulation will resolve a significant number of crisis caused by sexual violence against children. I condemn violence against children as an extraordinary crime, as it harms personal life and growth of the victims," Jokowi said. Know more

Rio chefs are using leftover Olympic food to feed the poor : Leftover food from the Olympic Village in Rio is being cooked by a group of international chefs and then served to the city’s poor.

Massimo Bottura, who runs the three-Michelin-star restaurant Osteria Francescana, and Brazil’s David Hertz hope to produce 5,000 meals per day from food leftover by the 11,000 athletes staying in the Olympic Village. Know more

President Rodrigo Duterte of the Philippines has ordered the country's army to destroy the Abu Sayyaf militant group and warned the country risks being "contaminated" by Isis if they do not. Hua Hin resort hit by twin blasts : Two bombs have exploded in the Thai resort of Hua Hin, killing one woman and injuring 19 people including foreign tourists.

The bombs were hidden in plant pots spaced 50m (164 ft) apart, and detonated by mobile phones within half an hour of each other, police said. Know more

Wild Salmon In Seine River

The Seine river in France has wild salmon fish returning to the river for the first time in nearly one hundred years. The fish returned after an effort to clean up pollution in the river since 1995.
